Scheduled admission

  • Exportar a PDF

This is when your admission is requested by the specialist, either for a study and treatment or for surgical intervention.

When you arrive

►You must go to Reception in the main lobby to provide you personal details and those of the insurance company, medical prescriptions and written authorisation from the insurance company.

►If you would like to have television and a telephone in the room, you will be asked for €30 deposit and you will be given the remote control for the television. To recover the unused part of the deposit, you must return the remote control to Reception.

►If you are a private patient, you will be asked for a deposit upon admission on account of any costs. You can pay in cash, by card (Visa, MasterCard, Amex) or by cheque.

►If you require a pre-operative assessment, before you go up to your room you will be sent to A&E to undergo these tests once you have presented the referral note requesting your admission.

During your stay

►The patient and his/her relatives will be accompanied to the assigned room. The results of the pre-operative assessment (performed in A&E) will be sent to the ward and attached to your notes.
You must give the nurse:

  • A list of your habitual medication (reason for taking it and dose).
  • All the tests that your doctor told you to submit upon admission.
  • Request for preparation that you have been given for the nurses.

►It is advisable for the patient to be accompanied if he/she is unable to look after him/herself. Should this not be possible, the nursing staff on the ward will provide you with the contact details of specialised carers. In other cases, it is recommended that a relative should remain with the patient during his/her stay in hospital.

►The companion may eat in the room or make use of our Cafeteria - Restaurant service, which is not included in the price of the stay.

We offer you the following complementary services:
  • Hairdresser and Beauty Service
  • Safe
  • Dietician

When you leave

Before leaving, you must go to Reception (main lobby) to inform them that you have been discharged so that they can carry out the necessary administrative procedures. These include:

  • Handing back the remote control
  • Refunding the deposit and settling any costs

If the patient cannot look after him/herself, we recommend that once you know what time you are due to leave you tell the nurse on the ward, who will organise:

  • A wheelchair to the car
  • Transport by ambulance (if requested by the medical staff)
