Internal Medicine
Internal medicine is the speciality that provides comprehensive care for adult patients, especially for the non-surgical problems of most of the patients staying in hospital.
Clínica Vistahermosa has three internists whose work revolves around inpatients, A&E and outpatients.
Objectives of the Internal Medicine Department:
- To provide comprehensive patient care.
- To guide the patient through the structure of the hospital system, managing the way in which the disease is dealt with in close collaboration with other specialists who may be involved in making a diagnosis.
- To collaborate with A&E doctors and other specialists to take care of diseases that are complex, difficult to diagnose or that affect several organs.
- To deal with medical interconsultation from the surgical department.

The Internal Medicine consultation offices are located in the Outpatient Department, with access through the entrance to A&E.
They are situated near the Radiology facilities and Clinical analysis laboratory, which makes it easier to move the patient.

Internists are doctors who are experts in controlling vascular risk factors, infectious diseases, HIV, congestive heart failure, thromboembolic disease, and rheumatological and auto-immune diseases, and they are often the patient's first encounter with medicine.
